University of Oklahoma to offer Web-delivered

Financial Planning Certificate Program to U.S. military worldwide

 

NORMAN, OK – University of Oklahoma Outreach will soon offer an innovative, Web-delivered certificate program in financial planning to U.S. military stationed around the world beginning in October.

 

This program is not a traditional online course where students simply read content online. Instead, students and instructors attend a virtual classroom and communicate using a headset and voice-over IP technology. It is a live, instructor-led, Internet-delivered approach to financial planning education. Students can take class from the comfort of their home or office, without worrying about traffic, parking or leaving work early. 

 

University of Oklahoma Outreach has partnered with Georgia-based Dalton Education to offer the program through the universityÕs Advanced Programs division. The Web-delivered Financial Planning Certificate Program will assist all levels of the military with basic personal financial planning education and the opportunity to achieve CFP¨ Certification. The certificate program fulfills the educational requirements for application to sit for the CFP¨ Certification Examination.

 

According to the Occupational Outlook employment as a financial planner is expected to grow 21-35 percent between 2002 and 2012.
